PINETREES Resort
on LORD HOWE ISLAND, Australia
(August 2008)
A
memorable and once in a lifetime experience
"Paradise on Earth: Where can
you find it? You will find it within yourself and on Lord Howe Island.
All you need is the right spirit
and approach. All you need is to say good bye for some time to your
car, computer (e-mail and internet), mobile phone, radio and television.
But you may say ”hello” to excellent food (gourmet kitchen), service and
accommodation. A bicycle and your own feet will take you around the
island. The scenery is real Paradise. Fantastic hospitality is provided
by Ed and Pixie, Bruce and Kerrie, who are the owners and manages of
PINETREES. As for myself, Ed Rourke has been the one, who mostly took
care of us. Why am I saying all this?
In August 2008, I had the
pleasure to stay on Lord Howe Island and in PINETREES for the second
time. This time turned out to one of the greatest experiences of my
life. I was invited to join THE BOB HERDERSON BAND for a one week
engagement at PINETREES on Lord Howe Island. The engagement was to play
7 days with one of Australia’s greatest Dixie- and Swing Bands. The
hotel guests at PINETREES, a fantastic crowd and audience enjoyed the
great hospitality and superb food together with us and our music. One
hundred pages would not be enough to describe my feelings. Great and
unforgettable memories remain! Heartiest thanks to all , who made this
possible for me!
If Paradise exists, this was
(is) it! "
